Activities

A varied programme, with something for everyone

Some residents prefer a quieter lifestyle and would rather spend time doing individual activities like reading, watching television or chatting to visitors.

However, for those that do want to participate in larger group activities, the home arranges a number of activities to suit the individual needs of the residents. Some of these activities are incorporated into daily activities of living, such as assistance from staff such as going for walks in the garden. Most activities are arranged with the aim of maximising the residents’ independence, exercise, stimulation and entertainment. We have small group and one-to-one activities as well as events, entertainments and outings – all tailored to our residents’ interests and backgrounds.

In addition to these activities, we also have a range of clubs and also welcome visits from local schools, therapy animals and groups to our home to enjoy spending time with our residents.

Our activities organiser and the care team engage with residents to find out what they are enjoying, and we adapt the programme accordingly to tailor to their needs.
